LSPD Medals for Bravery

- The Los Santos Police Department's Medal of Valor is the highest law enforcement medal awarded to officers by the Los Santos Police Department. The Medal of Valor is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for individual acts of extraordinary bravery or heroism performed in the line of duty at extreme and life-threatening personal risk.

- The Liberty Award is a bravery medal where the police partner was killed and he was seriously injured in the line of duty.

- The Police Medal is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for individual acts of heroism in the line of duty, though not above and beyond the call of duty, as is required for the Medal of Valor.

- The Police Star is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for performing with exceptional judgment and/or utilizing skillful tactics in order to defuse dangerous and stressful situations.

- The Police Life-Saving Medal is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for taking action in order to rescue or attempt the rescue of either a fellow officer or any person from imminent danger.
LSPD Medals for Service

- The Police Distinguished Service Medal is the department's highest award for service and may be awarded to employees who distinguish themselves by performing exceptional service in a duty of great responsibility or of critical importance to law enforcement.

- The Police Meritorious Service Medal is awarded to employees who distinguish themselves by performing exceptional service in a duty of great responsibility or of critical importance to law enforcement, but to a lesser degree than required for the Police Distinguished Service Medal.

- The Meritorious Leadership Medal is bestowed upon Officers who have performed noteworthy service in any capacity with the Los Santos Police Department in the leadership of other Los Santos Police Officers. Meritorious service or achievement in either dangerous & stressful field situations or administrative non-field situations based on sustained performance or specific achievement of a superlative nature.

- The Police Commission Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to officers who distinguish themselves by performing exceptional service to the LSPD or by performing in a stressful emergency situation with good judgement and bravery.

- The Police Commission Integrity Medal is awarded to employees who display an act of exemplary integrity, especially when that act requires exceptional character, fortitude, and moral courage in the face of substantial obstacles.

- The Community Policing Medal is awarded to personnel who have solved a significant community problem, included the community in the problem solving process, and/or shown a commitment to the LAPD's Community Policing philosophy.

- The Human Relations Medal is awarded to officers who have in their day‑to‑day activities shown great compassion and have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their response to fellow human beings.

- The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the department who are significantly injured or killed on duty.

- A commendation ribbon will be authorized to wear after a sworn employee has received 10 commendations. Citizen letters, minor and major commendations will be counted towards the ribbon.
Awarded by Command.

- A commendation ribbon (with Bronze Oak Leaf cluster) will be authorized to wear after a sworn employee has received 20 commendations. Citizen letters, minor and major commendations will be counted towards the ribbon.

- A commendation ribbon (with Silver Star) will be authorized to wear after a sworn employee has received 30 commendations. Citizen letters, minor and major commendations will be counted towards the ribbon.

- A commendation ribbon (with Gold Star) will be authorized to wear after a sworn employee has received 50 commendations. Citizen letters, minor and major commendations will be counted towards the ribbon.

- The Officer of the Month Award is bestowed upon an exemplary Officer selected by the Police Supervisors and Command Staff of the Los Santos Police Department each month.

- The Detective of the Month Award is bestowed upon an exemplary Detective selected by the Police Officers and Command Staff of the Los Santos Police Department periodically.

- The Command of the Month Award is bestowed upon an exemplary Command selected by the Police Officers and Command Staff of the Los Santos Police Department periodically.

- Awarded to those who have become a Staff Officer in the Los Santos Police Department.

- Awarded to those who have become a Command Officer in the Los Santos Police Department.

- Awarded to those who have become a member of the Supervisory Staff after having successfully passed their Sergeant Training Program.

- Awarded to those who have become a member of the Detective Team after having successfully passed their Detective Training Program.

- Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with the Field Training Program, consistently keeping up with officers who require their training and doing so at a very high standard.

- Awarded to those who have served as a Field Training Officer and conducted a total of 20 field training sessions.

- Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with the Internal Affairs Division, helping closing cases and consistently assisting with any of the roles required within the division.

- Awarded to those who have served as a member of the Internal Affairs Division for a total of 2 months.

- Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with the Media Relations Division, helping organize events and consistently assisting with any of the roles required within the division.

- Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with the Firearms & Licensing Division, consistently assisting with any of the roles required within the division.

- Awarded to those who have shown exemplary effort with either the Academy or Advanced Training Division, consistently ensuring the smooth transition of all the officers involved.

- Awarded to those who have served as an Instructor in the Advanced Training Division for a total of 2 months and have contributed toward 10 group sessions.

- Awarded to those who have served as a member of the Recruitment and Employment Division for a total of 2 months.

- Awarded to those who have served as a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics Division for a total of 2 months.

- Awarded to those who have achieved the position of 'Pilot' and served as a member of the Air Support Division for a total of 2 months with 30 flight hours.

- Given to any LSPD officer who is qualified to use a Urban Police Rifle (usually a AR-15 variant chambered in .223)

- Given to any LSPD officer who is qualified to use LSPD issued shotguns.

- Given to any LSPD supervisor who is qualified to use LSPD issued High Speed Unit.

- Given to any LSPD officer who is qualified to use the 2018 Dodge charger.

- Given to any LSPD supervisor who is qualified to use LSPD issued Motorcycles.

- Given to any LSPD officer who is qualified to use LSPD issued Air Unit.

- Given to any LSPD officer who is qualified to use LSPD issued patrol boats.
